LOGIC INSTRUMENT signs new contract in the United States - 2011/09/29

The U.S. subsidiary of LOGIC INSTRUMENT, one of the leading manufacturers of rugged computer for extreme environments, was selected by a large US supplier for a new order for 489 ruggedized systems incorporating a rugged laptop and a mobile mounting solution tailored to the specific types of vehicles to be equipped. In this case, LOGIC INSTRUMENT is sworn to secrecy regarding the client’s name for this contract. The new contract in the amount of $3.1 million confirms LOGIC INSTRUMENT’s expertise in designing complex solutions tailored to specific client’s requests.

In order to meet the demand of the prime contractor and its customer, these rugged laptop computers have been specifically adapted by LOGIC INSTRUMENT so that they can be integrated into a set of military vehicles that will use a new battlefield information system. Delivery of the entire order is expected before the end of 2011.

This order also covers the vehicle mounting systems, incorporating rugged military-type connectors, which will be installed in vehicles, allowing the computers to withstand shocks and vibrations during operations in extreme environments and operation of the main guns of the vehicles. These systems can be configured with different levels of protection depending on the type of vehicle. The laptop computer running the next generation software are used by artillery units to enhance their accuracy, reduce their time to fire and avoid collateral damage. This mobile computing solution follows the success of LOGIC INSTRUMENT USA Inc. in 2009-2010, as part of the AFATDS program deployment by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps with over 2000 similar laptop systems, specifically designed by LOGIC INSTRUMENT. All of these solutions based on applications developed by the military prime contractor, that is working with LOGIC INSTRUMENT to supply the hardware portion of the system. These systems are used throughout North America, Europe and the Middle East.
